DESCRIPTION

Born on the shore and worn by shore fishermen, the Chalutier has protected against wind, rain, and long days outdoors for generations. Reinterpreted by Béton Ciré since 2014, it moves effortlessly from the coastline to the city without losing its original purpose.
Its silhouette is instantly recognizable: a structured crown, wide brims, and an extended back that naturally protects the neck. The adjustable cord, finished with a Viridis insert, ensures a secure fit even when the wind picks up.
Made in Europe from seasonally adapted materials, it is a unisex piece designed to last, in all weather.

FABRIC AND CRAFT

Inspired by the Breton sailor's oilskin, this waxed cotton is woven and coated using a traditional technique that gives it its water-repellent properties. Handcrafted in our European workshops, it develops a unique patina over time. Occasional care is enough to maintain its water-repellency year after year.
WHEN AND HOW TO WEAR IT?

• How to style the brim:
Wear the front brim slightly turned up to open the face.
Lower it for maximum protection against rain or sun.

• Protection & function:
The extended back brim naturally protects the neck from wind, rain, or sun.

• What to wear it with:
Pair it with a trench, parka, or raincoat to highlight its maritime roots.
Or style it with a more urban look, denim, workwear jackets, minimalist pieces, to bring it into the city.
CARE & REPAIR

Like traditional hunting jackets, these pieces can be re-waxed (reapplication of wax).
Do not machine wash if you want to preserve the waxed finish.
Dry cleaning is recommended.
